We met April 11 in the Lodge. Thank you to all who attended and
participated in the discussions.
Our next meeting is May 9 at 10 am. Our guest speaker will be
Chris Harwood from the city of Beaumont Animal Control in the
Lodge Ballroom. Chris will be talking about the wildlife in the area
especially now that they will be more active in the spring.
Scam Alert - The Beaumont Police Department was contacted by a
victim who reported that he/she was contacted by a subject claiming
to be a family member. They told the victim they had been arrested
and needed bond money sent by Western Union wire immediately.
A second subject got on the telephone, spoke with the victim,
identified himself as a member of the court, and gave the victim a
"case number" and instructions on where to send the bond money so
the family member of the victim could be set free.
The victim withdrew the money required for the bond, and sent
it to the subject in an out-of-state location. Shortly after sending the
money, the victim was contacted by the family member and it was
determined it was a scam.
Before sending any money to any location, please confirm first
that the family member needing help actually needs help. Do not
become a victim. Contact the police department if you get this type
of fraudulent call.
Be careful while driving through our community. Please be
aware of the posted speed limits, and be especially careful when
approaching the crosswalks in our community. Pedestrians have the
right of way, so be patient and wait until the pedestrian reaches the
curb.
As usual, thank you to all our block captains for the efforts you
have made in behalf of our Four Seasons community.
Remember, if you see something, say something. ~ Jerry
