| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2018 | 37
May is a beautiful month. The flowers are blooming and our
community is full of color. Take some time to enjoy the beauty of
your loved one and the flowers. I wish each and every mother a very
happy and enjoyable Mother's Day with good friends and family. For
those of you who still have your moms, cherish every moment. For
me, I will cherish the memories.
Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., May 17
at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no
guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the much
needed support group. As a caregiver, you are no good to your loved
one if you don't take care of yourself. Please make time to attend.
These meetings are important. ALL caregivers are welcome. We are
here to support and educate you, plus entertain your loved one while
you attend the meeting. Drop your loved one off in the Arts and Craft
Room for an hour of live entertainment, exercise, fun and games. All
of the volunteers caring for your loved one has had a family member
with dementia and have experience dealing with this disease. Thank
you to Valerie Hubbard who entertained in April.
If you have any questions and would like to learn more about

Continuing with 50 Things You Should Know About Alzheimer's
Disease here are #'s 16, 17, and 18:
#16 Dehydration, reactions to medications and head injuries can
all cause temporary dementia. This kind of dementia can be treated
and often cured.
#17 Many people misplace items or forget people's names. This
does not mean they have Alzheimer's disease.
#18 If memory loss begins to interfere with daily living, Alzheimer's
could be the reason.
