42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2018 | 80s Plus Club Our March entertainment was an incredible and comical treat. The Sun Lakes singing couple of Mike and Lee Stone is called Tin Man's Heart. In the Follies back in the fall they had created two characters and performed two rather country hick numbers as Spud and Dud, complete with overalls and country accents. By special request, they performed as these two country characters for the 80s Plus Club. The signature song is I Don't Look Good Naked Anymore. They sang several others including an old Hee Haw song Where oh Where are You Tonight with altered lyrics for a truly hysterical effect. In the same humor they found and sang a song with lyrics including… "drew a mustache on your picture, threw your ring away, I'd a wrote you a letter but I couldn't spell !!*@! (raspberry sound)". A great deal of laughter was generated all around. What a funny and endearing performance. Thank you very much Mike and Lee. When we have them back in the future, we'll have them back as themselves, Tin Man's Heart and I'm sure they will be equally enjoyed. Our next gathering is June 9. We'd love to have you join us and believe you'd enjoy it! You owe it to yourself to give us a try. You can join us one time before deciding if you want to join or not. You just need to let us know the end of the prior month. There will be no May gathering for the 80s Plus Club. All other months we meet at 3 pm in the North Clubhouse. Get your reservations in by the end of each month to Sandee at (909) 301-9044, 1469 Littler, for the necessary head count. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members bring their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests also. You just need to let us know in advance for a head count for the food. For information, call Barb at 845-7904. The Stardust Dancers will be holding their annual show on July 13 and 14. This is one you will not want to miss. In addition to our local talent here in Sun Lakes, we have invited performers from the San Gorgonio Ballet School and some professional ballroom dancers who regularly compete. We will have our own "Dancing with the Stars" presentation. More information on this show will follow in upcoming issues of this publication. The Stardust Dancers just attended a naughty little show at the Grove Theater in Upland. It was entitled Waist Watchers, and was delightful. Another trip to the theater is June 21. We will travel by bus, to the La Mirada theater to see the Tony award winning show of Newsies. Everyone is welcome to join us. Ask any Stardust Dancer or call Evelyn at 845-7199. Stardust Dancers We are reaching the end of our regular season this month. So come and enjoy our remaining activities. We will have some limited activities during the summer, so be sure to check the Club's Lifestyles article. We have two dances scheduled for this month. There is intermediate line dance instruction on Mondays, May 7 and 14, 7 to 8:30 pm in the South Clubhouse. On Mon., May 21, we will have our traditional "graduation" ceremony to honor all the students that have persevered throughout the year.
