44 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2018 | Int'l Culture Club Starting in the month of May your board has voted to bring back the "try before you buy" program on a limited time frame until further notice. We get many inquiries from new residents, they are hesitant over joining as they don't know if they will like us. So we are giving them the opportunity to attend one of our functions one time only without becoming a club member. They will have to pay the non-resident dues charge of $27 and they can sign up with the members at their regular place and time. If they are coming as a single or with someone, they will be given a table seating for that night. You won't be a stranger for long as we are a very friendly, fun bunch and comprise of both singles and couples equally. Our dinner dance is on the second Thursday evening in May. Doors to the Ballroom open at 5:30 pm and music by American Made will start at 6 pm. The dinner buffet will start at 6:30 pm by table call. It features two lines on two serving tables so it moves fast. We are celebrating Mexico, so it will feature a Mexican buffet. Our entrée will be cheese enchiladas (two per person), pork chili verde, seasoned refried beans garnished with cheese, Spanish rice, mild and spicy salsas. Your dinner salad is table pre-set when you enter and has tomatoes, red onions, jicama and ranch and raspberry vinaigrette dressings. Tri-colored tortilla chips and Carlo's salsa are on your table. The dessert of tres leches cake along with coffee and water also. Iced tea will be on a side board. Sign-ups are on the first Thursday afternoon in the North Clubhouse at 3 pm. $24 for club members and $27 for a non resident guest, and one time try as a guest before you buy. Call Carol Hujrt at 769-1315 for a take-out meal box if you need to cancel after sign-up. If you find by Sunday noon after sign-up that you cannot attend, she can return your check or if someone wants to attend by that time, she can reassign you table seating. Call Diane Hofler for info. at 769-9308. Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers appreciated the invitation to perform for the Memory Care Group at their monthly meeting. It was held at the Main Clubhouse here in Sun Lakes. Thank you to a very special lady, Anne Magnolia, for inviting us. Anne not only has entertainment, but informational meetings to help those in need. We always look forward to performing for this "special group" and their caregivers. Spring has arrived and we are looking forward to many upcoming shows. One is at Del Webb's Solera for a "Hawaiian Luau" that will be held outside of their Main Clubhouse. We offer free dance instructions on Wednesdays from 10 to 12 noon at the North Clubhouse and Saturdays 8 to 10 am at the Main Clubhouse. Come join us!
