Young at Heart
The YAH Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament
was a HUGE success! Everyone enjoyed a fun
time on the greens. Congratulations to all
the winners. Many kudos and thank you to
Cindy and John Cross, Kathy and Mike Weeks
and all their helpers for making this a great
event.
June 23: Hawaiian Luau - Get your lovely
hula hands busy signing up for the greatest
Luau in Sun Lakes! The deadline for signing
up is June 15. The fun starts with pu pus
(aka appetizers) on the lanai of the North
Clubhouse from 5:30 to 6 pm. There will be
awesome games to test your island skills with
prizes as well as delicious Hawaiian Luau
food. Tin Man's Heart will provide music for
listening and dancing. Cost is $15 pp. BYOB
and glasses. Our Big Island Wahine, Theresa
Van Haren (424) 215-4218 will once again
host this event. Seating is limited so get your
checks to Theresa at 6029 Turnberry Dr.
July 28: Del Mar Horse Races - Join your
fellow YAH members for a day at the horse
races in Del Mar followed with a bonfire at
Moon Light Beach Park. Gather up some of
your friends to car pool for the day. We are
attempting to get a block of rooms reserved
at Encinitas for anyone wishing to stay the
night. If you are interested in staying the
night, call Bob Walter at 845-2002.
Aug. 11: Hot August Country & Western
Night - Get ready for an evening of music and
dancing at the Main Clubhouse Ballroom.
This YAH event is open to ALL Sun Lake
residents and their guests. Cost is $12.50 pp
for YAH members and $15 for non-members.
Look for flyers in the Main Clubhouse lobby.
Take advantage of the cool air in the
Ballroom and join your friends for a fun
evening.
