44 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2018 | Int'l Culture Club Our June social will be on the second Thursday as usual this month. However, because it is our "Prom" month, it will be a little different. As you enter the Ballroom, you will receive a ticket for King or Queen. A drawing will be held at the start of the evening to select both. A delicious meal of Chicken Breast and Short Ribs will be served. Dress up a little, and let's have fun.. These days, Proms are not always date events. Singles are common and in the majority. Special pictures will be taken of the King and Queen. We will have plenty of room for those folks who would like to attend one time before joining. Just make your reservation at the sign ups on the first Thursday at the North Clubhouse, 3 pm. The music will be provided by the "Showdown" Band. We hope to see you at the social. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Makua Hula Dancers from Sun Lakes performed at Solera Senior Community in Beaumont for their Bon Appetite Club. The Club chose a Hawaiian Luau theme outside by their pool and Main Clubhouse. They had great food, music and of course, our Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers. A fun time was had by all. We offer "free" dance instructions at Sun Lakes on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 noon at the North Clubhouse and Saturdays 8 to 10 am at the Main Clubhouse. Come join us! If you would like to have the Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers perform at your club, private party or for luau entertainment, please call Perla Williams, 467-8339 or Olga Marquette, 846-3579. Makua Hula Kathy Reynolds, Barbara Finely, Saveth Herness, Perla Williams, Olga Marquette and Penny Skog Dinner Dance Club As summer approaches and we prepare for a busy schedule, it seems like we look at our calendar and go "Wow, how am I going to fit all this in?" June is especially busy with graduations, weddings, and Sun Lakes Charity Week! Therefore, Dinner Dance Club will be DARK in the month of June so that you can participate in all the activities associated with Charity Week and still handle all those other June activities and commitments. Sun Lakes does a great job in raising money to support organizations in the Banning Pass, and we're sure you will want to participate in as many of those activities as possible. Join in, help your community, and have a really great time. Thank you to all our members for their participation and support. We look forward to seeing you in July!
