| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2018 | 55 Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays thru Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us play. For further information, please contact Steve Brown, 643-9880 (stvdeb@gmail.com). The short Spring Tournament has nearly come to an end. Pre- play-offs, to decide any ties within divisions, will be held May 29. Final play-offs will be May 30, beginning at 3 pm. (Remember, Mon., May 28, is Memorial Day.) Come out to the courts and watch the action! On to the Summer Tournament! Finally we will be back to our normal schedule. It runs 10 weeks, beginning with the week of June 11. Team entries must be in by June 1. As always they go to 1288 Pleasant Valley. She has a box at her door. If your team remains intact and you filled out an entry card either for the Winter or Spring Tournaments, all you need do is enclose the team fee ($12, $3 pp) in an envelope, put your names on the outside of said envelope, choose the day your team wants to play, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (SECOND CHOICE PLEASE!) and drop it in the box. If your team is new OR if there is a change in personnel, fill out an entry card, enclose the team fee and club dues ($12 pp) for anyone not already a club member and take it to the above address. Cards can be found in the bocce cabinet or get one from Dutch. Reminder: Our playing hours change with the seasons in our attempt to beat the heat or avoid the cold. Thus, the Summer Tournament hours move to 5, 6, 7, and 8 pm. The temperatures are much more comfortable, the sun is lower in the sky and you're only on the courts for an hour! Join the fun! Questions, call Dutch at 845-0392. Friends of Bocce
