The finalists Bob Walter and Sally Jo Schwartz helped to give us all a great tennis match to watch! The consolation round was won by C.J. Davis and Carl Miller in a tie breaker against Joe and Cathy Leogrande, another great match! For those members who use the ball machines we have emptied the wire ball carriers at the courts for your use. Please come out to our Saturday Morning Mixer on June 2 at 8 am. This mixer is open to all residents of Sun Lakes and refreshments and donuts are provided. We will be hosting a Tennis Mixer/Dinner on Wed., June 13 at 5 pm, (we will play tennis at 5 pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. The menu is Tacos and Tequila including dessert. There is a sign-up sheet at the South Clubhouse and the fees are $7 for members and $10 for non-members. There are envelopes at the South Clubhouse for your convenience to sign up and pre pay in advance. The cut-off date is June 8 to participate in this event. Our Member/Guest Tournament will be Sat., Sept. 15 - find a guest to play with you and mark your calendar now. If you are interested in joining the tennis club please call Lori Hazelton at 236-6111. Doesn't matter… we have players of all skill levels. We play Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 to 6 pm, and Sat., 10 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom (normally). While some folks do travel during the summer to cooler locations, you will always find players on the scheduled days below. This is a great time to invite a friend or neighbor to join you on the court. Equipment is always available for newcomers to use. We welcome everyone interested in the game to join us. Scheduled days of play are Tues./Thurs./Fri. from 8 to 10 am. On Sunday, the courts are open to everyone, but many POP Tennis players show up to play on Sunday at 8 am.
