30 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2018 | TGIF Let's celebrate the first day of June with our friends and neighbors at TGIF on Fri., June 1 at 5 pm in the Ballroom. This will be an "Open Mike" evening. We invite anyone who plays an instrument or sings or writes poetry or any other talent to come forward after dinner and take over the microphone. We know we have a lot of very talented individuals in Four Seasons. Bring a dish to share with eight to 10, your own utensils, dishes and beverage of choice. We will provide hot water, instant coffee and tea, and ice. There will be a wine raffle. Two tickets for $1. Join us for a fun evening. It is a great way to meet your new friends and share a dinner together. Karaoke Hi everybody and welcome to the Karaoke Corner. Karaoke will be on the second Sunday June 10 following brunch at 2 pm. Every year each club has to turn in a list of members and officers in accordance with Four Seasonsville protocol. To me this seems to be a very formal, professional and business like procedure, unlike anything having to do with the Karaoke Club. I seem to be the self appointed President or Great Poobah as I like to be called, or is it Grand Poobah? Well,I guess it doesn't matter if you call me Great or Grand Poobah, but don't call me late for dinner. I guess we could hold an election for next years officers, but why? I seem to be doing a terrific job and have not had any complaints lately… well, except for last month, and oh yeah, the month before that. That was no big deal though and the gash in my head has healed nicely anyway. Besides, I seem to be very good at ignoring complaints, except when I have to duck flying objects. The money seems to be pouring in, and I always tell the members that a generous tip of a couple of dollars will not move you up in the rotation as a lot of KJs do, and I always hold the line at that. But now that you bring it up, I have decided to add a very special package to our karaoke sessions. Pricing as follows: for a mere $500 tip you can and will be the only singer allowed to sing that day. I know, what a deal huh? And as a special for the remainder of this year only… for a $250 tip, you can sing after every other singer. Now, I know that a lot of the members won't be too happy about the new pricing list, but it will make me extremely happy, and after all, that's really what we should all care about. "Make karaoke great again, and make me wealthier." ~ Bill, from the "top of the hill," but, "not over the hill"… yet. Contact the instructor, Shannon Ramsey, at (951) 315-3889 or by email at slramsey11@gmail.com. Her certifications include AFAA, AEA, SPIN, RIPPED, ZUMBA, and CPR/First Aid.
