| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2018 | 17 I'm starting to get a little older now and need some help. What are my options? Who can I talk to? As a person ages, the inevitability of slowing down, becoming confused, being lonely or thoughts of death becomes more real and can often be a source of uncertainty. Many seniors also struggle with anxieties linked to their thoughts of growing old and being helpless. Some anxieties may include: • Where can I go if I can't live by myself? • How much does assisted living cost? • How long can I stay at a skilled nursing facility? • How long will I be able to care for myself? • Who can care for me if I need help? • Are there any VA benefits to help me? • Who can help me with estate planning? • Where can I go if I just need to talk to someone? If you would like to find the answers to the above questions or if you have questions of your own, please join us for a free community event on Wed., June 20 from 10 am to 2:30 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 27025 Girard Street in Hemet. We also encourage you to bring your family and friends to learn about what is available to you as you age. We will have two attorneys available; one will speak on Veterans benefits and the other will speak on estate planning. There will also be a panel of professionals who will speak on various living options that are available to you. These professionals will help you understand the differences between skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and other residential options. Over 40 vendors from local skilled nursing, assisted living and board and care facilities will be present to give you information and answer your questions about living options. There will be other vendors available to talk to you regarding the latest Medicare fraud scams, pre-needs, your new Medicare cards as well as vendors providing free screenings such as blood pressure, spinal exams, bone density exams and much more Attendees will receive a free informational booklet with all the vendor's contact information and room to take notes as you learn about each vendor. Lunch will also be provided on a first come, first served bases. Don't miss this extremely informative and educational symposium available to you free of charge. You need to know what is available should the time come that you might need some help. These top professionals want to help you as you go through the aging process. Please RSVP to Jennifer at (951) 663-1060 or Jane at (951) 392- 5407. For any questions or a needs assessment visit please contact Jennifer Trebler Partridge at (951) 663-1060. Ask a Question To all our friends, neighbors, relatives and those who don't know us: As of May 17th, 2018 I have been married to Linda Stevens Morriss for 15 years. I caught her at a weak moment in 2002 and these have been the very best years of my life — PERIOD! Linda is a very accomplished woman. Presently she is President of the Hemet-San Jacinto Assistance League and she is an RN. She works very hard at doing good for many others. Linda has brought a very high level of calm and love to our lives. I believe she has added at least 15 years to my life and I am truly lucky she is part of my life. We have eight grandkids and she treats my children and all our grandkids as if they were her own. We golf and travel together a LOT. The golfing times are our best and worst when I try to teach her on the course. BIG mistake. She ALWAYS has something nice to say about others. Her cheerfulness and happiness make each day so very special and I am so very fortunate to share them with her. I really love this lady and wish we had a lot more time together. Sorry we met so late in life but she has made these 15 years so very warm and loving. Love you Lindy, Bob Morriss Happy Anniversary!
