"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Meet Some Sunshiners: The ladies pictured above (Donna McLaughlin, Karen Hikel and Sharon Sims) make magic with the table décor at the Celebration of Life. It is their task to create the perfect centerpiece for each table as well as assisting with other areas that need their special touch. Not pictured: Christine Sullivan and LaDean Hatcher. The Program Team – Sorry, we are missing a team member here but we thank this group for the outstanding job they do to bring the community interesting and informative programs throughout the year. Pictured: Donna McLaughlin, Sandy St. John, Maggie Grimes and Linda Adkins. Not present: Mary Swinney, Chair of Programs. The Card Team – Again, not all team members are pictured here but we recognize LaDean Hatcher, Sharon Uhlken; Chair: Trish Moorhouse; and Anne Balensiefer. Not present: Kathy Poss, Janelle Budd and Bev Habig. We serve this community. No one person does it all alone. We feel we have an outstanding group of men and women who share their talents and their hearts throughout the year. You will be seeing more of us in the July Herald. Thank you all for your support. Programs: April Program – Mayor of Hemet: What a great turn out. We counted about 170 participants for this enlightening program. Thanks to Sandy St. John for her efforts in bringing the Mayor of Hemet to a discussion on a number of subjects of concern to our residents as well as Hemet at large. May 17 – We had our wonderful Health Fair. This is always a wonderful way for our residents to get an extra nudge at healthcare. We appreciate the efforts of Jennifer Partridge from Arbor Hospice who helps get this program rolling every year. Thanks to Mary Swinney for her contribution in making this a special yearly event for our residents. June Program – Pat Hall will be presenting a program, entitled "Do You Really Know Your Ancestors?" Pat will explain what genealogy is and how you can get started learning about your ancestors. Celebrations of Life/Memorials: The family of Doris Stephan held a memorial on April 28 at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) in Hemet. Our heartfelt sympathies go to this wonderful family who we were privileged to meet and share some special time. Team Sunshine's dessert gals provided the cookies and other desserts for the memorial. There may be others in the community who are mourning the loss of a loved one. We extend our condolences to these families as well. Team Sunshine Need Information: Please fill out a "NEEDS" form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment: We do have medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. We do, however, stress that the return of medical equipment to the lodge be discontinued. Please call Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112) and you will be advised of the proper disposition of same. Many thanks for your cooperation. Closing Thoughts A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug. -- Patricia Neal Team Sunshine 24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2018 | Do you really know who your ancestors are??
