FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2018 17
Meet Kaylie, our rescue dog – with a twist. Two
years ago as I was pulling into a shopping mall
parking lot in Hemet, a woman carrying a white
ball of fur approached my car. She said she couldn't
care for her dog properly and was desperate to find
it a good home. I firmly told her that my husband
and I had decided not to get any more dogs. We
already had our 12-year-old poodle, Reilly, who was
diabetic and required lots of extra care. Suddenly,
the woman came around to the passenger side of
my car and got in with the little dog. She put her
into my lap and I was hooked. Who could resist
such a lovable bundle of sugar and sunshine!? I
told the woman I would have to call my husband –
expecting him to say no. To my surprise he said it
was up to me. A half hour later I was pulling into
our driveway with our new addition.
