FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2018 25 SUMMER SAFETY Summer is the time of the year when many of us participate in more outdoor activities. Whether we are playing bocce ball, pickleball, tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard, paddle ball, swimming, or walking our trails, we need to be careful. Know your limits and do not overdo your sport or leisure activities. It can be very warm, so prepare by having water with you. Carry your cellphone and let another person know where you will be. We have two outdoor pools and one indoor pool to enjoy. When outdoors use sunscreen that works best for you and stay hydrated. If you have your grandkids with you at the Lodge pool, please monitor their activities. Running around the pool often leads to slips and falls and the injuries that accompany a fall. When walking through our Four Seasons community be especially careful when crossing the roadways. Be aware of the vehicles while crossing. Cars may be travelling faster then they appear to you. If you are driving, be aware of pedestrians and please travel at the posted speed limit of 30 miles per hour on Four Seasons Circle and 25 miles per hour in the residential streets. If you walk on the trails be careful where you step. There is a lot of wildlife around our beautiful trails and you may see the occasional snake. Please avoid any contact with the snakes and keep grandkids and your pets close to you. There will be several fireworks displays in our area on the Fourth of July. Enjoy the fireworks from the Summit, your yard, or other vantage points. Please do not use any illegal or dangerous fireworks. Please lock your cars when they are parked in your driveway and take valuables with you into the house. By the time the Breeze is published for July our new bridge near the Crooked Creek entrance/exit will be completed and open for use. If you are driving, please drive at a safe speed and if you are walking across the bridge, be aware of the vehicles. Have a safe and healthy summer.
