48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2018 This month the 8-Ball in-house tournament was canceled but 9-Ball continued as planned. In a 10-member tussle, two of our team titans made it into the final match. After five rounds of play it was down to Larry Rice and Robert Howard. Although Larry fought his way out of the losers column to make it into the championship match, Robert won game one and was therefore undefeated. Congratulations to Robert Howard, the monthly 9-Ball Champion! The Billiards for Fun 2018 quarterly tournament was in May and everyone had a good time competing against one another for the privilege of having their names inserted on the 2018 winners plaque. The tournament was an exhibition of the honed skills of our members, and the competition (although fierce at times) was lots of fun. Who are the winners, you ask? First Place Team: Mike Fisher and David Thomason; Second Place Team: Ken Gomer and Richard Dipoma. Congratulations and kudos to the winners and all the players who participated. Each and every one of you add to the fun! On July 3 we will hold our Fourth of July Tournament. This is a singles tournament, where each member signs up in one of three categories: Red: Experienced; White: Intermediate; and Blue: Still- Learning. There will be trophies awarded to the first and second place winners in each category, presented at the party in the Ballroom on July Fourth. Yep. All the players will be playing on their own, with no teammate to buoy them up, and everyone has such a good time! So, c'mon, dust off those pool cues, and come check out the Billiards for Fun Group. We meet every Tuesday, in one of two sessions: 11 am to 1 pm or 1 to 3 pm, in the Lodge Billiards Room. Hope to see you soon! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine Tournament action First place winners Mike Fisher, David Thomason Second place winners Ken Gomer, Richard Dipoma Robert Howard, 9-Ball Champion Larry Rice
