24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2018 | Book Club All readers interested in great discussions, occasional great speakers and movies, join us the third Monday of every month. Our book for July is A Tangled Mercy by Joy Jordan- Lake. We will be meeting at my house at 669 Weir Drive at 2 pm. Hope to see all of you. Any questions contact Vicki Allen-Hitt at (951) 926-6336 or vhitt@hotmail.com. Players Theater On behalf of the Players Theater cast and crew, we want to thank you for your continued support. Our June 23 performance of Killjoy was a huge success thanks to the great direction by Chuck Sims, and a talented cast and crew! Our next production is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 3, 2018. We are currently researching a great script for your enjoyment. Please feel free to join us at our monthly meetings held the third Friday at 1 pm in the Ballroom to find out what we're all about. We are in need of stage hands, art directors, directors, assistant directors, computer technicians and of course actors. Remember, we are a reader's theater, which means we carry the script throughout the play due to one performance three times per year. Although memorization is not necessary, it is important for the actors to keep their place in the script, be able to remember movement (it's written on your script) on stage, easily take direction, and be available for rehearsals. Hope to see you at our next production or meeting! ~ Chris Pounders, Chair Channel your life's experiences, the things that made memories - take those memories and write about them. We started painting as a traditional tole painting class by painting only on wood. However, we have evolved over the years. We paint on almost anything… including fabric, wood, slate tiles but mostly we paint on canvas! We paint many different subject matters from ocean scenes to winter scenes, garden scenes to portraits, Christmas ornaments to bird houses and even a four seasons collection.! We always say if we don't like it we'll paint over it. There's nothing we can't fix. We meet every Tuesday from 10 am - 1 pm. Come in and check out the painters progress. Beading Buddies - We have been together almost nine years. We started as a tatting class and have evolved as well. We still tat, however, most of us have moved on to beading. We make gorgeous beaded Christmas ornament covers, beaded necklaces, crystal beaded bracelets and everyone makes Kumihimo necklaces. We even restore broken jewelry or precious family jewelry pieces. We do just a bit of everything. Mostly we have fun. We meet every Wednesday from 10 am - 1 pm. Drop by anytime and see what we're making now. Lois Stipp - Instructor - Lois spends her summers in Michigan where she has a home and an art gallery in Beaver Island. She shares her talents and classes there until she returns to Hemet to winter. Her drawing and painting classes resume in October. Kathy Anderson - Instructor Greeting Card Class - Held on the second Friday of every month from 10 am - 12 pm. In this fun creative class you will learn to make beautiful and individualized greeting cards to take home. Open painting - During the summer months on Thursday mornings in the Arts and Crafts room from 9 am - 12 pm, is for anyone who wants to paint with others. There is no class, no instructor and no fee, just come and paint or even draw with others for fun. Bring a friend, and enjoy a morning of art. ~ Nancy Hawkins A R T Group
