26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2018 | Karaoke Hi everybody and welcome to the Karaoke Corner. There has been a rumor going around the hallowed halls of Fourseasonsville that I, with my magical and mystical karaoke machine, along with our highly talented roving band of karaoke singers, will be performing at this years Fourth of July celebration. I'm sorry to say that an agreement could not be reached in time, and will have to be put on hold, again. But hallelujah, there will be karaoke on July 8 at 2 pm in the Karaoke Lounge, so if you are attending the party on Wednesday the fourth, and would like to keep the party going through Sun., July 8, then karaoke will be the closing act for a dynamite week of music. You say you're too old to party like that anymore? Maybe not. I have come up with an idea that could change everyone here at Four Seasons. I'm sure that you've all heard of "The Fountain of Youth." Well I have one word for all you party animals, PLEXADERM. The ads are on TV so it has to be true. This stuff gets rid of the bags under your eyes, all your wrinkles, stubborn warts and toe jam, why, it's a genuine miracle. I'm thinking about bringing back musical trivia at karaoke, but instead of giving away a bottle of wine, I could give away a jar of PLEXADERM, and the winner could share it. The Karaoke Club could be the youngest looking club on campus. Think of it… we all come to karaoke as senior citizens, and we leave as 30 year olds. How great is that? I'm thinking that we could liquefy it, put it in a spray bottle and with a few squirts "voila" you're a kid again. Or we could mix it with some Rogain. Can you imagine Don Sims and Greg Culton with hair? Simply amazing. We could even throw a couple of Viagra pills in the spray bottle and we would have to open up baby sitting services here at FourSeasonsville before long. "Bill at the top of the hill Karaoke and Babysitting Services," has a catchy ring don't you think? We might have so many people coming to karaoke to sing and "get young" we'll have to move it out to the patio. I'm putting this stuff on my shopping list. Has anyone seen Doctor Goodheart and his traveling medicine show come around lately? I haven't. Maybe his horse is getting too old to pull that wagon up this dang hill. Well, that's okay, I'm sure it must be in the snake oil section at Walgreens. I'm so excited, you know our motto at karaoke use to be "Get Happy," but now we'll have to change it to "Get Young and Happy." It is truly a gall darned genuine miracle for sure! Come to karaoke and get young… Bill Ballroom Dance club The Ballroom Dance Club meets in the Aerobics Room (by the Gym) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 pm to learn and practice Ballroom Dance. There is no cost. The format is to work on whatever those in attendance want to learn or practice. This is open to anyone at Four Seasons and can be singles (including married but only one dances) or couples. The facilitators, Dennis and Sharon Uhlken, and those in attendance figure out how to make it work with those there. The first half hour is dedicated to those that are beginning or need extra work on any dance type, and the next hour is usually to work on one dance type that the group is learning. Usually several weeks are spent on a type of dance starting with beginning steps and adding complexity over the weeks. Some sessions are used to review/relearn dance types that haven't been done in a session for a while. Most attend once a week, either Tuesday or Thursday when they can. Some both days. Videos of instruction are usually used to learn from, but sometimes Dennis and Sharon or others will show something they learned. Dance types covered include: Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Nightclub Two-Step, Foxtrot, and Tango. Other types can/will be covered as those in attendance want. This could include couples Country Dances if there is interest. If interested, you can just show up. Or you can contact Dennis and Sharon Uhlken (951) 375-7445, (leave a message) with questions and to ensure a session will be held (no class when Dennis and Sharon are out of town usually, although if people want to show up and practice they can). Our motto: Keep on dancing. Dancing has been shown to be a very good way to keep the brain working well, and of course the exercise is good for the body. One of our performers
