Due to some of the excursion refund policies and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. For theater excursions, please let staff know at the time of sign up if you would like to sit next to a specific person. For casino trips, residents must provide addresses for their guests. EXCURSIONS EXCURSION SIGN UPS: MON., JULY 2 AT 8 AM If you are looking for enjoyment, friendships, new places to see, or just to get out for the day, try coming along for one of the many day trips that the Recreation Department has to offer. We travel to Museums, Casinos, Live Theater, Symphonies, Gardens, Concerts and we also offer a few multiple day trips throughout the year. Some trips will offer lunches or dinners that are included in the price. Flyers can be found in the Main Clubhouse Lobby or call the Recreation Department for more information on the fabulous day trips and special events Yosemite National Park Departs Sept. 16 and returns Sept. 18, Double: $439 pp; Single: Add $125. Absolutely NO refunds after July 10. Day 1: Travel by Motorcoach to the beautiful Pines Resort on Bass Lake, the gateway to Yosemite. Overnight for two nights. Day 2: Guided tour of the Valley Floor in an open-air tram with a park ranger. Lunch at the Majestic Yosemite Hotel (formerly the Ahwahnee). Afternoon at your leisure to explore the park. The park operates a free shuttle bus to the various points of interest. Day 3: Morning at your leisure in the park, then travel home. Stop at Bravo Farms for a no-host lunch on the way home. Explore the unexpected ways Egypt and the classical world (Rome and Greece) influenced each other's worlds at the Getty Center. This major exhibition explores the artistic interplay between the three great cultures of Egypt, Greece, and Rome from about 2000 BC to AD 300. Highlights include finely crafted vessels sent by Egypt's pharaohs to Crete and Mycenae, Egyptian statues that served as inspiration for the first Greek sculptors, striking portraits blending Egyptian and classical styles, and luxurious objects made for wealthy Romans obsessed with all things Egyptian. The collection of the J. Paul Getty museum at the Getty Center includes pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and decorative arts; 19th and 20th-century American, European, and Asian photographs; contemporary and modern sculpture, and Robert Irwin's Central Garden, designed specifically for the Getty Center. Always on view, the Museum's collection of European paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts is arranged roughly by era and the artist's nationality in galleries that span all four pavilions at the Getty Center. Photographs are always on view in the Center for Photographs. The collection spans the entire history of photographic arts, and includes works from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The onsite restaurant has an extensive menu which includes sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, tacos, burritos and grilled items. Wine and beer are also available.
