| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2018 | 5 Once and for all, allow us to explain an important fact. We desperately needed an overhaul of our charge account system. But more important than that, we needed a system of finding out WHO was using our facilities. The only way possible was to identify everyone who came into our clubhouses. We needed some form of identification. Hence, the I. D. Cards. We were being told more and more that outsiders were practically living here on a daily basis. They were using our dining rooms, swimming pools, tennis courts and many other amenities. In fact many of them joined our clubs and enjoyed our facilities more that most of our residents. How did all of this happen? To begin with, they became friends of residents and were invited to participate in some of our activities. They gained entrance by being placed on the guest list and from then on they had the run of our complex. They would attend some of our public events and manage to become known and added to guest lists. These situations cannot happen now. When you enter the dining rooms or the pro shop you will be asked for your I. D. Card. You will not be served until it is verified you have a card and your picture matches. Therefore you cannot hand the card to a relative or friend to use. You must be present with any guests. Moreover, we had residents or guests using a charge account number that was not theirs. Every month we had residents reporting that there were charges on their account that they did not make. That cannot happen now, your picture and account number is on your I. D. Card. The next step is where many of our residents messed up. They either did not sign up for an open charge account by signing another set of papers or signed the papers for a charge account and did not know they had signed. Either way, they were surprised when entering the dining room and finding out they had an account, or were told they did not have an account and they thought they did. If you are still not sure or want to set up an account go into the Administration Office and they will handle your request. We know many of our so called "guests" feel the residents are depriving them and are getting "uppity" by excluding them, but our complex is for Sun Lakers. Enjoy your life here and make use of the facilities. DELEGATE ASSEMBLY REPORT Joe Formino, Chairman, District Delegate Assembly
