| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2018 | 13 Use common sense and don't attempt strenuous activities to which your body is not accustomed. Become acclimated to the temperature before any strenuous outdoor activity. What you should not do: • Don't try to lose weight by sweating. • Don't adapt the "no pain, no gain" motto. • Don't forget to drink plenty of liquid when swimming. • Don't do physical activity during the hottest part of the day, 10 am until 4 pm. FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT: EXERCISING SAFELY IN THE HEAT Sun., Sept. 23, in the Main Ballroom, doors open at 1 pm, show at 2pm, $15 pp Five passionate musicians with a common love for the music of Fleetwood Mac are united on a mission to revitalize the Golden Hits of Yesteryear. Don't we all remember? The top hits of old such as the legendary LP Rumours! The instantly recognizable Stevie Nicks sound in Dreams, Rhiannon and Sarah capturing your imagination. Mysterious flamboyant attire and top hats, beautiful songs by Christine McVie such as Songbird and You Make Lovin' Fun, but also emotionally driven compositions such as The Chain and Tusk are a feast for eye and ear. Rock-classics like Don't Stop and Go Your Own Way, along with a selection of the finest blues songs of the Peter Green-era will all pass by in this over 90 minute tribute show. The strong lead vocal qualities of each individual member guarantee both a varied program and the beautiful harmonies inherent to the music of Fleetwood Mac. Thanks to a top-class line-up of seasoned pros including former Wild Romance drummer Gus Genser, bassist Joyce van den Hoorn, keyboardist Louise van de Sande Bakhuyzen, guitar player Dominik Sprenger and singer Chaja van der Heide you'll imagine yourself traveling back in time and Second Hand News will certainly not sound secondhand! Make sure to get your tickets early as this show will sell out quick! Fri., Oct. 5, 7 - 8:30 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. The premier Eagles tribute band, Desperado, is back. This is the classic rock concert that you won't want to miss out on! The band consists of five lead vocalists and instrumentalists and includes members who have actually played with the Eagles. They will be performing the Eagles soaring harmonies while executing the guitar parts and rhythm track to perfection. Desperado challenges the listener to tell the difference between what is being played live and the original versions of the songs. The show will be theater seating, first come first serve. Tickets for this event are $15. Sign up with the Recreation Department on Aug. 1.
