We've started preparations for our fall play "Four Old Broads," a
comedy which takes place at a retirement home. The cast has been
chosen and they are busy memorizing their lines this month and
next month. Complete read-throughs are scheduled for Aug. 2 and
16, from 1 to 3:30 pm in the Ballroom and rehearsals and blocking
begin on Sept. 3. Dates for the play are Oct. 25 - 28 and information
on ticket sales will be forthcoming. We will also need our members
to help behind the scenes and with set construction. We can always
find a job for you and this is a good way to learn what it takes to put
on a production.
A group of our members attended The Pirates of Penzance
musical at Beaumont High School and we were treated to a great
performance by the cast. Our own Lee Stone lent some of her
professional knowledge by acting as their stage manager and doing
their lighting. We encourage all of you to go out and support the
theatrical productions in the Pass area whenever you have an
opportunity to do so.
Our next potluck is scheduled for Sept 19 and Sandy Haines will
provide us with more information in the near future. If you haven't
had an opportunity to attend one of our potlucks, put this date on
your calendar and come out and enjoy an evening of camaraderie
with your friends and enjoy the delicious food prepared by our
members.
