FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2018 7 By Cindy Graves Wednesday, June 27, was an evening we will all remember for a long time. A special tribute dinner was given for Larry Goodreau who has been the Captain and fearless leader of the famous "Four Seasons Technical Production Group." Larry stepped down after almost 10 years of service to this community. A funny, fictional biography of Larry was created by Michael Rothberg. Danya, my Activities Assistant, created a wonderful very "punny" slideshow of super heroes with Larry's head attached. Cathy Goldsmith, the Performing Arts Club Captain, honored Larry with some great stories and then our Board President, Len Tavernetti, presented a special award to Barbara Goodreau, for her personal sacrifices in lending the community her husband. I had the final privilege of presenting the coveted "Orb of Greatness" to Larry for his huge list of contributions and involvement. Larry has been organizing and working on the sound, lighting and staging for all of our Amphitheater Concert Series, our Performing Arts Shows, BOD meetings, town halls and any other special events that took a technical crew. He has personally built a huge mic stand rack in our Ballroom storage, designed and created outdoor amplifier stands; built beautiful shelves in the Ballroom sound system cabinet and other things too numerous to list. He's been a great leader and built a great team who will be continuing with their amazing service. It was pretty funny that the week he determined to step down from being the leader, a big special project came up in the Performing Arts Club requiring research and equipment problem solving. The thinking was; now that Larry is "retired" from leadership, research and equipment problem solving, he'll have a lot more time on his hands to take on another research and equipment problem solving project. The moral of the story for Larry is "You can retire, but you can't stop working." Graciously, he's already announced that Stan Sweeny may be taking over his place as leader, but he'll still be around to pull cords, schlep equipment and help the team. Four Seasons has sure been fortunate that he and Barbara chose this neighborhood to move into. Thank you Goodreau family for your giant investment in making this community a better place to live in!
