42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 Women's Evening Bible Study All ladies are invited to fellowship and grow in God's word. In October our study will be on WISDOM. We have invaluable life experiences that have given us a wealth of wisdom. Let's share those experiences with one another. In the Bible, God gave King Solomon the gift of "wisdom and very great insight and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore." We receive gifts and blessings on our birthdays. As I age I don't think of getting older. I am thankful for receiving the gift of getting wiser! We gather together on Oct. 11 and 25 from 6:30 to 7:45 pm in The Lodge Game Room. Invite a neighbor or friend to join you in our non- denominational study. There is a sign-up sheet in The Lodge and you may contact Mary at baerhuggy@aol.com for more information. For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. -Proverbs 8:11. ~ Mary Baer The Chavurah (Ha-vu-rah), an informal social and cultural gathering group providing an opportunity for the community to connect to Judaism, welcomes all interested residents who want to participate in Judaism's culture and celebrations. In the next months, we have planned several outstanding events. The next event is Trivia Night is Oct. 7, at 6:30 pm in the RCN, with Grand Trivia Master Joe Barletta. Come for the fun, food and prizes, and meet new friends. All events include a $1/pp donation. The entire community is welcome every first Sunday of the month. Look for the 'Trivia Night' flyer in The Lodge and the Daily Report. Our monthly 'Jewish Movie Night' is on the third Sunday of each month. Before the movie is a dessert potluck in the Card Room in The Lodge at 6 pm, followed by the movie at 6:30 pm. Movie Nights resume Oct. 24. This month's movie is The Women's Balcony, a wonderfully good-hearted, rousing tale that puts the men and women in an Orthodox community in Jerusalem to a social test. We hope you attend this very interesting, rollicking event. All residents are welcome. For more details, look for the flyer in The Lodge. For more information about these events and to be put on our email list, contact us at chavurah.time@aol.com, or contact Nancy Justice (Movie Night) (951) 769-5804; Sandi Barletta, (951) 524-0237 (Trivia Night); Dr. Zee & Ernie Knapp, (714) 423-4755, (General Questions) Club Coordinators. ~ Sandi Barletta Chavurah (Ha-Vu-Rah) Jewish Social Club Intercessory Prayer group Greetings, intercessors, friends, and neighbors! We cordially invite you to come and join us on Monday, Oct. 1 in the Game Room at 9 am for intercessory prayer. Come and give all your cares to the One who is ever interceding for you. Love is the greatest gift one can share. Mother Teresa showed us how to love by not just telling us to love, but showing us how to love by example. Can we follow her example? Here are some of her quotes: Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. Love is a fruit in season at all times and within reach of every hand. Love begins by taking care of the closest ones-the ones at home. If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it. Peace begins with a smile. We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies. ~ Cookie Bonner In September we finished our 17-week series Blessing Blockers with: Despair v. Hope, Our Will vs. His Will, Ask! and Recognize and Give Thanks. This has been a very interesting series, with lots of class discussion and interaction, sharing of experiences, learning what the Bible has to say about these blessing blockers, and how to rid them from our lives, so blessings will flow. In October we begin a new series about the Psalms: What are they? How did they originate? Who wrote them? What do we learn from Psalms? This will be a beautiful study and bring us to the December Christmas season. On Dec. 14 we have our annual Christmas party in the ballroom. This will be a different party than we have had in the past, as it will have a fully-prepared dinner, and several entertainment segments. Hopefully, this celebration propels us into looking at the Christmas season in a new light and focusing on the true reason for this yearly celebration. In January we begin a new study, Paul's Letters, which comprises all of Paul's writings in the New Testament. This will be an in-depth study of Paul, his life, transition, devotion, his endurance, and how beautifully he was used by God in writing most of the books in the New Testament. If you are interested in joining an amazing group of truly devoted Christian women, please come by The Lodge any Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 am. We will welcome you with open hearts and arms. Hope to see you soon. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believeā¦" Women's Bible Study Life Guide Bible Study This month, we will continue our study entitled "How God Became King," facilitated by Doc Sellars.
