48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 During our 8-Ball in-house tournament I was fortunate to survive four rounds of regular play only to be defeated by Larry Rice in the fifth round. I emerged from the loser's column to meet Larry in the final match, which he won, eliminating me from the competition. Our 9-Ball competition this month was fun and exciting, too. Our Captain Del Lyles, Sr. went five rounds of play undefeated before meeting Richard Dipoma for the final match. Play was tough going back and forth ending in Del becoming the monthly champion. Congratulations to Larry and Del and thanks for the memories. This is the final article I will be writing for the Breeze; my wife Thanh and I are resigning our positions and will be moving out of state within the next few weeks. It has been our honor and privilege to serve as officers of a great and fun club and to have been able to assist and support our Captain and dear friend Del Lyles. Elections have been held and a new Co-Captain and Secretary/Treasurer will be carrying on the great tradition we helped build. For now, the only 8-Ball Club officer is Captain Del Lyles, Sr., (951) 845-5114. ~ Roland Harrah The 8-Ball Club Right: Roland Harrah and Larry Rice Below: Del Lyles Sr. and Richard Dipoma
