40 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 Amphitheater The summer concert finale offered a "Yippie ki yea," along with a calf-roping contest and some boot-stomping tunes. The Amphitheater was filled to capacity, plus folks on the lawn and in the pool area. This season drew the largest audiences to date with more than a total of 1,400 people for the season. As always, many hands ready our Amphitheater for a musical evening under the stars. The committee is chaired by Mark Lassen with members Mary Cristalman,Toni Finer, Larry Goodreau, Doris SanFilippo, Andy Shipper, and Stan Sweeney and last, but not least, Cindy Graves. Of course, the support of our Four Seasons Board members is much appreciated. As with any concert, there is a cadre of volunteers hard at work to ensure the concert is a smooth running event filled with good music and fun surprises. The morning of the concert, the Technical Production team (John Barilone, Jeff Davidson, Larry Goodreau, Mark Lassen, Michael Rothberg, Andy Shipper, Stan Sweeney and Colin Taylor) ensures all the sound equipment is in place and functioning properly. Late in the afternoon they return to help the guest artists with their equipment; after the concert, the process is reversed. They help load the band's equipment back into the vans and return our equipment to The Lodge storage area. We are looking forward to next year's series of concerts - with more good music and more fun surprises during each concert. ~ Doris SanFilippo Even though this is the the month of Halloween, I have no boos or cackles for our Four Seasons community. Instead, I have thanks and appreciation. You've really been supporting the Performing Arts Club's shows with outstanding numbers of attendees and helping us out with your appreciated contributions. I can't thank you enough! We had a record number of audience members for our Radio Shows in August, as well as for September's Love & Marriage II show. We are thrilled to have you appreciate what we're doing for you, your fellow residents, friends and family members. With your contributions, you help keep all of our shows at no charge. This also gives us the opportunity to supply our actors with props, costumes, and more. It also helps our Four Seasons Singers with their risers, and our technical crews with improved lighting and sound, all resulting in better and more enjoyable performances. Holiday Show, Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, will be the next 'BIG' spectacular! John Horning is the Producer and if you've ever attended a previous John Horning show, you know it will be a sell-out and totally entertaining. Titled World War II in the South Pacific, our choir, which is growing in numbers and sound, will open the show by serenading you with wonderful holiday songs. Several singers, line-dancers, and comedians will mimick the style of Bob Hope's USO shows. I have wonderful memories of watching Bob Hope and his cast of well-known celebrities on TV when I was much, much younger. This show will be performed over two nights to hopefully accommodate everyone who wants to attend. Free tickets will be available in either late October or early November. Please ask the Front Desk for more specifics. The Holiday Show will be the last of our performances for 2018. If you have ideas for shows you would like to see in 2019, please call or email me, (see below), soon! I will take your responses to our 2019 planning meetings in October and November. We hope to continue bringing you many more shows for your enjoyment. You can contact me via email, at terimk@verizon.net or by phone, (951) 992-9156 or (602) 309-0919. ~ Teri Meyers- Kelman Performing Arts Club WORLD WAR II IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC NOV. 30 AND DEC. 1
