FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 51 Ladies Putters Group The Ladies Putter group had a busy August. On the17th, the LPG held a Putting Tournament at the Tukwet Canyon Golf Course in Beaumont. Following the Tournament, the group had an awards breakfast at the Clubhouse. Phyllis Kates was victorious, once again. Phyllis received the award for the Lowest Score. Cathy Thomas and Carolyn Hamic tied for most Holes in One, at two each. Jackie Morris won the Closest to the Pin award. On Aug. 23, the ladies enjoyed their Appetizers and Awards night, which took place in the RCN building. In addition to delicious food, several members received awards for their accomplishments during the summer season. Phyllis Kates won awards in the following categories: Lowest Season Average, Lowest Game Score, Season Holes in One, Game Holes in One and Most Games Played. Claudia Rozzi won the award of the Closest To The Pin. Newcomers are always welcome in the Ladies Putters Group. The LPG meets on Mondays at 6:30 pm and Fridays at 9:30 am, at The Courts putting green. If you have any questions regarding the Ladies Putters Group, please contact our President, Judy Irving, at (951) 922-2525. ~ Vivian Walker September brought some relief from the heat, but we continued to start at 8 am until the last week when we switched back to our normal 9 am time. Being summer time and members traveling and all, our attendance has been averaging 8 to 10 players each week, which is a good number with everyone getting all the playing time they can handle. We also welcomed one new member whom we'll call Hank until I get to know more about him. Anyway, it only took him two games before he started throwing ringers on us. I just love new members that come in and add a new level of competition to our weekly play. That could be you. If you are interested at all, come on down to the Summit and join in the fun. Your spouse will enjoy being involved as well with our monthly social, which consists of dinner at The Bistro followed by dessert at a different member's home each month. This is the activity that really makes us a club, as couples. Getting to know one another socially and just enjoying the camaraderie that this brings. Speaking of social time, September's host for dessert was Dave and Suzanne Roldan which was just delicious as always with a pre-planned activity that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you, Dave and Suzanne. Can we come to your house again in October? Our club contacts are Ron Erickson, (951) 846-3288, rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie, (951) 845-0520, goldtoy@earthlink.net. ~ Ron Erickson Horseshoe Club LPG members celebrate another successful season Tukwet Tournament winners Jackie Morris, Cathy Thomas, Phyllis Kates and Carolyn Hamic Judy Irving, LPG President, with summer award winners Claudia Rozzi and Phyllis Kates
