FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2018 9 "Drink what you like and like what you drink" is the mantra of the Taste d'Vine Wine Club. From very humble beginnings almost 10 years ago to today, the club has blossomed into the largest club in Four Seasons; boasting nearly 250 members. While Temecula wine-tasting trips and the lavish Holiday Party are annual highlights of the club, I particularly enjoy the monthly meetings that provide members and guests with wine samplings ranging from local California wineries to unusual wines from around the world. Wine-oriented education and light entertainment, all in a friendly, social atmosphere, round out the evenings. Join us in the Ballroom on any third Thursday of the month. ~ Jeff Davidson TOPS Performing Arts Club Amateur radio club Taste d'Vine My club CHANGED MY LIFE! Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) helped me lose more than 50 pounds. What a difference that made. Of course, going from a 3X to an off-the-rack extra- large was one perk, but better health, more energy, being able to walk on a treadmill and being happier were also rewards that came with weight loss. How did this happen? I already knew what to do to lose weight. What I didn't have was the camaraderie, the encouragement, and the consistency of a regular group of friends, male and female, who understood me. But TOPS meetings provide that and more. I love my TOPS club. ~ Andi Henderson Right brained? Left brained? No brained? Which was I? Left brained like my late husband, an engineer? Right brained as I had always assumed I was? Or no brained as I feared I would prove to be if I joined this esoteric group? I wanted to help in case of an emergency, and it is the HAM radio operators, communicating outside a disaster area, that so often marshal lifesaving help. So I joined. I learned the easy FRS radio first. Eventually I took a test. I passed. I got my Technician's License. And by attending our informative meetings, participating in our weekly check-ins, or Nets, and accepting the help of the smart, kind club members, I am learning. I'm proud of myself. I love this club. ~ Laurie Larson, KM6CIT When I moved to Four Seasons in August, 2013, I saw that there were many activities and clubs to join. I'm not a joiner by nature, but one day I noticed a sign-up sheet at The Lodge for auditions for a play. I thought,"I like plays, maybe this is something I could try." I went to the audition and spoke with Roberta Hokuf and Barbara Wasco. They explained that they were casting a play that Roberta had written as a murder mystery. I read and was offered a small part. We had rehearsals on Sunday evenings until the performances in March, 2014. I cannot tell you how much fun we had – hard work, but fun! And what a great group of people. So warm and accepting of new members. As Irving Berlin wrote, "There's no people like show people!" ~ Sharon Bond QST QST
