READY, SET… BOWL! Tuesday bowling at Canyon Lanes begins
this month. This is a league for Sun Lakers and Friends! The good
news is our fees for bowling will not increase this season. Canyon
Lanes has one of the best rates for Senior Leagues in Southern
California. I know this from bowling in other houses in the area.
However, there is a change in the charge for practice games. Practice
games will be $2 per game or three games for $5.
The organizational meeting is Oct. 2 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse
Ballroom. Bowling starts Tues., Oct. 9 at 9 am at Canyon Lanes.

As of this report the Monday league has not started. Below is part
a poem that I wrote to show one of the things that happened to me
last winter.
I throw the ball with all of my might
Straight for the pocket what a beautiful sight
Like a rocket it goes I know there is no way
With a shot like this that no pins could stay
I hear the explosion the pins start to fly
Now I stand there looking and wondering why
With such a great shot I thought it was great
Why is the seven pin still standing so straight
That's all right a spare I will get
I will knock that seven pin back in the pit
My team believes I know just what to do
My shot is good straight and true
But then I hear my team start to mutter
Our anchor just threw his ball in the gutter
How can a game make me feel so low
Right now home is the only place I want to go
