10 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2018 Thank you for your submissions to the new column "Why I Love My Club, Group or Class." If you'd like to tell everyone why your club, group or class is great, send 100 words or less to FSBeditorialboard@gmail.com. Please use "Why I Love My CGC" in the subject line and include your name and phone number should clarification be needed. Why I Love My Club, Group or Class Ladies Putters Chavurah Jewish Social Club I formed the Ladies Putters Group last September when the five-hole putting green at The Courts was completed. Not daunted by forming a new group, I also asked for non-used putter donations and golf balls which were ready to be active again. Almost 60 women responded, 18 putters were donated, bags of used golf balls appeared, and we were ready to go! The ladies who had faith in this new group demonstrated such contagious enthusiasm, talent, and "what do I need to do next?" attitudes that nothing seemed impossible. When we realized we were going to play nine-hole games on a five- hole course, the ladies created new set-ups. These folks added the heart and spirit to the group that I love. Ladies of all ages and from all over Four Seasons are now putting once or twice a week in the fresh air and sunshine or outdoor lights. Whether on the course or off to the side, there are always enthusiastic words for good play or hole-in-one shots. Coaching each other, laughing along the way, and genuine fun are all reasons why I love the Ladies Putters Group. ~ Judy Irving It's hard to believe the Chavurah Jewish Social Club is six years old. It started with five couples as an all- community educational, cultural, social, and culinary club and has blossomed into a vibrant, multifaceted group with many interests. I especially enjoy the monthly Bagel Bash & Movies, followed by lively discussions; the Trivia Nights with a fun, enjoyable trivia master; and, festive holiday parties — New Year's Break the Fast, Chanukah Exchange, and Passover Seder dinners. Also, learning about other cultures widens one's quality of life, and the happenings in a fun, friendly, and social atmosphere make their meetings and events even more enjoyable! I especially like how everyone helps—from cooking special European, Mediterranean and Asian dishes — to making holiday arrangements for community events … that's what makes a club a really great club. Every time I go into The Lodge, I see the colorful and exciting flyers and posters, and friendly reminders are always in the 'Daily'. If you have any questions and wish to join us, look for the flyers of committee chair contacts so you can be included on our lists. ~Dr. Zee Knapp Singing for Seniors When my husband and I moved to Four Seasons this summer, I was so excited to discover both a choir and singing class. I wanted to join the choir but they were on hiatus during the summer months so I thought I'd try the singing class. I had sung in several choirs in the past and had taken voice lessons. I thought I already knew everything about singing. Boy, was I wrong! Over the weeks, Susan and her assistant, Kathy, have been patiently teaching me about breathing techniques and posture. All those years of choir and no one had taken the time to show me that I wasn't doing it correctly. ~ Sonia Kirksharian
