All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three- month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us play. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteer referees who have so willingly given of their time to help make playing bocce ball a fun time! We couldn't function without you! The Winter Tournament begins the week of Jan. 14. Entries must be in by Jan. 4. It's a new year and we start all over again! That means club dues must be paid, $12 pp for the year (such a deal!). In addition, a new entry card must be filled out for each team wishing to play the winter season. PLEASE fill the card out in pencil! Cards can be found on the shelf in the bocce cabinet. Those teams entering pay the usual team fee of $3 pp or $12 per team. We play early in the day at 1, 2 and 3 pm in the winter, hopefully catching the warmest part of the day. Entries go to 1288 Pleasant Valley. There is a box at the door. PLEASE fill the card out in pencil. This is being written very early in November, so the autumn play-offs haven't been played yet. Info on the winners will be in the January article. Hopefully some work on the courts will take place during our holiday break, especially Court 3. Check them out periodically. Happy holidays to all!
