FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2018 7 The grand finale of the entire year happens this month and I'm about to tell you why. You, of course, have your golf carts decorated and have your Holiday Extravaganza tickets; so that you're ready for a great show tonight (should you be reading this on Dec. 1). Have fun, enjoy it, and then afterwards be sure to mark your calendars for the Holiday Magic Show in The Lodge Ballroom on Tuesday Dec. 11 starting at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome. It's always a very awe- inspiring and entertaining event for all ages! Speaking of magic, one of the magical traditions we have at The Lodge is looking for the three itty-bitty ornaments in the giant Lodge tree. This year Pam Morales, the Social Committee Chairperson, donated our special ornaments in the name of Melody Seewooster who started this tradition (she has since passed). The first people to find the ornaments win a Smitty's Gift Certificate. If you find the ornaments, carefully pick them out of the tree and take them to Cindy (me) or a Lodge Attendant. Happy hunting! If you're looking for a Holiday Dinner event this season, boy oh boy, you have tons to choose from. There is the "Let's Dance" Holiday Dinner Dance, the African American Culture Club Gala, and Taste d'Vine Club's formal Holiday Dinner. If you haven't already purchased tickets for those affairs, you've undoubtedly learned a sad lesson about buying tickets late. All of these large events are super popular. There are however, waiting lists and most all of the groups have unexpected cancellations, so I would recommend you at least put yourself on a waiting list; you may get a surprise call. As I mentioned last month, there are parties every day and night in December in nearly all of our facilities. Every club, group and class holds their own. It's parties everywhere you look. What a fun place to be during December. By the way, Karaoke will be meeting on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 5:30 pm. Come ready to have fun and sing your little hearts out. Karaoke is also a great way to relieve the inevitable holiday stress that sneaks its way in this time of year. I wish all of you have a fabulous holiday season and, in spite of all of the hustle and bustle, I hope you're able to get a little time to just reflect on all of the precious things for which you are grateful. When I do my reflecting, I'll be thinking of you. You have brought so much joy and fulfillment to my life over these past 11 years and most of you have really become like family to me. Thank you for the hugs, the encouragement, and the amazing relationships. You are the gift that keeps on giving all year long. For the couple of you who are a bit nasty and grumpy, it's still okay. You are what I call, "The black velvet upon which the diamonds lie." Happy holidays and thank you for everything!
