The end of October was very active for our club. About 60
people took a three-night trip to beautiful Cambria where they
hiked San Simeon, Moonstone Beach, and Fiscalini Ranch.
Perfect weather, meals together, lovely countryside, elephant
seals and a Scarecrow festival made for an active trip.
November hikes included Sycamore Canyon and Santa
Margarita.
December features our annual Holiday Party and dinner
dance with live entertainment. Our last hike of the year will
be at nearby Buena Vista Park (aka the Duck Pond).
We look forward to an active 2019 with hikes every two
weeks on alternating Thursdays and Fridays. The walk is
typically one and a half to two miles on fairly flat terrain. The
hike is about three to four miles with elevation gain of 200
to 400 feet. We lunch together after the hike. We are always
looking for people to lead hikes. If you have a favorite, and are
willing to lead, please contact Herb Holzman.
On hike days, we assemble in the overflow parking lot at
8:30 am and car pool to the hike. Passengers give the driver
gas money and we all bring water, hat, sunscreen and sturdy
shoes.
To join our club, leave a check for $10 at the front desk and
fill out the new member form. You will be paid through 2019
and avoid the Do Dues Day rush.
