58 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2019 Fishing Club In this article I promised to give you a few tips on how to catch Rainbow Trout. 1. Location, location, location. You can only catch fish if they are in the lake. Call the local lakes to find out when they will be stocking fish. 2. Use light line like two to four pound test line. Believe it or not the fish can see your line if it is too big. 3. Take plenty of different baits when you go fishing. Power bait comes in different colors and I usually have 10 to 15 bottles of power bait in my tackle box. 4. Use treble hooks size 12 or 14. 5. When you see another fisherman or lady catching fish find out what kind of bait they are using. 6. If you don't catch a fish in 15 minutes, move to another spot on the lake. Sometimes you can find fish in different areas of the lake. 7. Most of the trout you are going to catch are two to three pounds. You can use a real light pole and a small reel. 8. If you have never fished for trout before then go to google and see some of the videos that they have on trout fishing. 9. If you can go with someone who knows how to fish for trout, he or she can show you how to set up your equipment and how to put on the different baits. 10. Ask the ranger at the lake where is the best place to fish for trout. Also ask what is the best bait to use. 11. Never give up. Some days you will catch your limit and other days you won't even get a bite. If you do get lucky and catch some nice trout don't forget to invite your friends over for a trout dinner. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and have a great new year of fishing. PS: Don't forget to get your new fishing license. ~ Richard Carrasco Three rainbow trout caught at local lake by Richard Carrasco Richard holding two rainbows
