| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2019 | 27 There is a small, but fun group of women golfers in Four Seasons who gather to play weekly on Thursdays. We usually play at the Hemet Golf Course, but occasionally we travel to a different course. Also we sometimes meet for lunch after our round. We are trying to "grow" our group. We welcome all women golfers. Yes, at this time we are gender-specific; after all, we call ourselves the DIVAS. We welcome ALL levels of play, because that is what we are. No handicap required. We are not an official, sanctioned league. We just love to get together and play and socialize. You can play nine or 18 holes. If you are new to golf or have been playing for years, please consider joining us. You don't have to be a Four Seasons resident. For more information, contact Helen Johnson at (951) 926-2537 or email htjohncal@gmail.com Ladies Golf HEALTHY LIVING Come join us in 2019. Get to know us better. We are your support for a healthier lifestyle in the new year. Healthy Living is all about lifestyle changes. We cover many areas of health concerns only one of which is weight loss. Our main focus is support for each other's efforts. So below, we submit some interesting thoughts from AARP. 1. Frozen is fine. You can eat a balanced diet even when fresh fruits and vegetables are out of season because frozen can be as good as or even better for life-extending nutrients. British scientists found that fresh fruit can lose nutrients after three days of refrigeration, while frozen fruits don't suffer the same fate. Another study similarly found that frozen blueberries contained more vitamin C than fresh ones. 2. Cut back on pain pills. Regular use of painkillers such as ibuprofen and naproxen — including over-the-counter brands such as Advil, Motrin and Aleve — may raise your risk of heart attack and stroke by 10 percent, according to a 2014 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel review. (Prescription-strength versions may increase your risk by 20 to 50 percent, even after just a few weeks of use.) Reserve these drugs for severe pain, and use the lowest possible dose for the shortest amount of time. We meet every Wednesday at 9 am in the Multipurpose Room. It is FREE! Thank you and Happy New Year! For more information contact Dave and Karen Tuvim at 599-4236.
