56 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2019 | Friends we will miss Aida Brito made her transition to heaven on November 26, 2018. Aida spent her last days with her daughter Cachita, little sister Rosa and son-in-law Hector, who lived on Masters Drive in Sun Lakes, Banning, California. Aida lived 94 years full of love. She had three grandchildren, Beatriz 48, Joe 46 and Pablo 39, and seven great grandchildren. Aida was born on March 9, 1924 in Cuba. She emigrated to the United States in 1989. Aida married Jose Bassas on November 8, 1948. Her husband was a WWII Navy veteran. Aida was a loving and caring mother, super homemaker and babysitter for the family. She was a remarkable cook and made delicious desserts. Her favorite dish was chicken rice. She enjoyed preparing this dish for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Pat Jeter, Born in a farmhouse on April 6, 1934 in Pierce City MO, Patricia Jeter, departed this life peacefully at home in Sun Lakes surrounded by family on January 6, after losing her battle against cancer. Her parents were Cecil Henry Moore and Mildred Marie Peterson. During the difficult depression years her family moved often trying to find work for her dad. They traveled from Missouri to Texas and California, then to New York, back to Missouri, and finally to Utica NY. In 1954, she married Larry Boef, a soldier she met at a dance at Griffins Air Force Base. After their daughter Leslie was born, they moved to California. A few years later, her son Trent was born. Pat was a secretary and housewife most of her younger adult years, until after her divorce in 1977. She went back to school and graduated from Fullerton College as a library technician. She worked for Cypress and Fullerton College, City of Orange, and several other companies. In 1977 she met John Jeter. He was the love of her life. After they were married in 1978 he took her around the world to all of the countries most of us will never see in person. They called Saudia Arabia and Metairie, LA, home for several years before coming back to Orange, CA. They purchased a home in Sun Lakes in 1994. She has many family members who will miss her greatly. Her siblings are Carol Hansen (deceased), Rosemary Sciortino, Michael Moore (deceased), and Michele Moore, their spouses and many nieces and nephews. She also has two granddaughters, Lisa Claussen and Kari Vandiver, their spouses, and her great granddaughters Isabella, Rees, Harper, and Cora Kay. Her step-son through marriage is John (Jack) Jeter, his spouse, and a granddaughter, Nicole. She filled her life with many activities and made many friends in Beta Sigma Phi sorority, ushering at Blessed St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Friendship Club, Dinner Dance Club, Evelyn Hawkins Stardust Dancers, Jeann Svarvars Tap Class, the Sun Lakes Chorale, the Genealogy Club, and the Marine Club. She was also John's campaign manager and traveling companion for the San Gorgonio Pass Water Board. All of us who knew her were blessed by her sweet and loving spirit. She is going to be missed, but we know we will see her again someday.
