26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2019 | Ballroom Dance Vintage Voices Vintage Voices would like to thank everyone who came to our Christmas Program. You helped make it a time of remembrance of what the holidays are to most of us. From all the wonderful comments that we heard, you were feeling the way we were. Special thank you to Hal Townend for taking the time to help us with our program and reading the Night Before Christmas, which he always does so well. We would also like to thank Team Sunshine for all their support and all the work involved in serving refreshments. Thank you to Ross and Cathy for opening up their home for all our rehearsals. The Ballroom Dance Club offers beginner to intermediate Ballroom Dance lessons for any Hemet Four Seasons residents that want to learn or practice and improve Ballroom Dancing. Lessons can be as a group, a couple, or individual on request. There are a number of places in the Hemet area where bands play and people can dance and socialize after learning one or more dances. In 2018 over 25 people have participated in the lessons, usually in the Four Seasons Aerobics Room. Dances that were learned and practiced were Waltz, Swing (East Coast and West Coast), Cha-Cha, Nightclub Two Step, Rumba, Foxtrot, and Tango. On request, couples country dances such as Country Two-Step and Cowboy Cha-Cha were also taught. Instructors are Dennis and Sharon Uhlken, with help from Rey Hu at times. There is no cost for the club or lessons - Dennis and Sharon do it for the love of dance and to learn/practice more themselves. To learn or improve any of these or other dances, contact Dennis Uhlken at (951) 375-7445 (leave a message and he will return your call). Members in a classic "closed position" dance hold are (left to right): Linda Nygaard and Dennis Uhlken, Bev and Dick Polito, Susanna and Rey Hu, and Suzanne and George McGowan (L-R): Dennis Uhlken, Linda Nygaard, Sharon Uhlken, Susanna and Rey Hu, Glenn and Linda Harman, and Bev and Dick Polito
