| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2019 | 27 Tennis Friends Tennis Friends held a potluck in January to honor John Tarabochia as the recipient of the 2018 Spirit Award. The Spirit Award was implemented in honor of avid tennis player Bill Koretke, who passed away several years ago. He and his wife, Bernadette, traveled throughout the world playing tennis. In memory of his love for the game and exemplary sportsmanship, the Spirit Award is given to a tennis player who epitomizes these qualities. John was selected to receive the award not only for his love of the game, but for the graciousness and fairness he displays on the court to players of all levels. All Award recipients display a spirit of kindness and helpfulness that encompasses not only players on the tennis courts, but to people within the Four Seasons community. John is known for his friendly personality and is always the first person to offer his help. Many Tennis Friends have been recipients of John's generosity with his time and appreciate his friendly greetings, kind words and welcoming hugs. When hitting his powerful groundstrokes, John's tennis philosophy is "it's just a game; in other words, just enjoy." Tennis Friends welcomes players of all levels. Whether it's a cold winter morning or a hot summer day, players can be found on the courts practicing, playing and enjoying each other's company. Anyone who's interested in playing tennis, meeting new people and having a great time, are encouraged to check out the action on the tennis courts. Who knows? John may be there to greet you with his friendly smile. Winter schedule: Women's begin at 9 am, Monday and Friday; Men's begin at 8 am, Tuesday and Thursday; Mixed-up doubles begin at 8 am, Saturday.
