| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2019 | 5 The Annual "Membership" Meeting is two months away! The meeting is tentatively set for Wed., April 24. Since this year is an odd year, there will be an election of three Directors for two-year terms. The first step in this process is coming up this month. In your billing, you will receive a "Notice of Election & Call for Candidates" and a "Request for Candidates Statement" (résumé). For any owners in good standing who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please fill out the résumé and return it by the deadline indicated on the form. Please take note that serving on the Board is a serious commitment. The terms Board Members serve are for two years. Whether you choose to serve on the Board of Directors or not, it is very important to exercise your rights as a member and vote! When the notice and ballots are mailed out, please fill out the ballot per the instructions enclosed and return it to the Lodge. MAINTENANCE & VIOLATIONS: Were you aware that the community is close to 16 years old? As the years go by, regularly scheduled preventative maintenance performed throughout the common areas and the Lodge facility by our contracted vendors is starting to increase. One of the many assets that sets this community apart from others is our committees. The common area landscaping is regularly monitored by members of the Landscape Committee. The Lodge, recreation facility, streets and gatehouses are monitored by the Facilities Committee. Each month, the committee members perform a visual inspection of those areas. A report is provided at their monthly meetings listing any items needing correction. The report is forwarded to the management team who then directs the vendors to correct the items accordingly. I say that to say this; your homes require regular inspections too. We have seen a rise in the number of violation letters for maintenance related issues that we have sent to residents and owners. In 2017, we sent over 300. In 2018 we sent over 800! I would really like to see that number go down this year. We need your help. Please take a good look at the outside of your home, especially the south facing side. Look at your shutters, trim and garage door for fading, chalkiness or paint peeling. Please take a proactive approach so the costs to copy and mail all of those letters is minimized. Also, when you regularly maintain your home, you ensure it will retain its property value. We are making every effort to reduce costs affecting the 2019 budget that the Board approved and with your help we can accomplish that goal. Happy Valentine's Day! Enjoy it with your loved ones and friends. General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth
