Art Lovers At our February meeting artist Gayle Bryant will demonstrate alcohol ink painting. Gayle has worked with many types of media, tole painting, stained glass, and oil painting until she discovered alcohol ink, which immediately fascinated her. She has been teaching basic Alcohol Ink classes for about a year and really enjoys the fluidity and vivid colors of the medium. Using alcohol inks can be a fun way to use colors and create backgrounds for stamping or card making. You can also use alcohol inks in painting to add color to different surfaces such as glass and metals. Alcohol inks are an acid- free, highly pigmented, and fast drying medium that needs to be used on non-porous surfaces. Alcohol ink is a colorful, medium that is exciting to use. The ink is capable of creating colorful abstract collages or paintings that are more intricate. There are varieties of different techniques you can use to manipulate the alcohol ink in imaginative ways. If you get the right materials and use your creativity, painting with alcohol ink can be fun and easy. One can get a great feeling of accomplishment with his or her creations. We are excited to learn about alcohol ink painting from Gayle Bryant and look forward to her demonstrations. Our meeting is held on Tues., Feb. 19 in the Mykonos Room at 1 pm. Join us for refreshments at 12:30 pm. You can join or renew your membership ($10 per person) or leave your check at the Clubhouse front desk payable to Art Lovers Club.
