If the 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday then sign-ups will begin on the following Monday. If a holiday falls on the first day of the month, sign-ups will begin the next day. WAITING LIST POLICY: The waiting list is created by the Rec. Dept. for sold out events/excursions. This list is used (in order of registration) when the attendee has to cancel due to illness, doctor's appointment, etc. The waiting list is not used for additional sign-ups for secondary excursions that are scheduled due to their popularity. Contact the Rec. Dept. if you have any questions about either of these two policies. WE ACCEPT CHECKS ONLY. You can register up to 4 people (including yourself ) per check per household, payable to Sun Lakes Country Club. All Recreation Classes, Excursions and Special Events are open to residents only, unless otherwise specified. We may open Excursions and Special Events to guests if numbers are low and the activity is in danger of being canceled. - Thank you! PLEASE NOTE! Due to some of the excursion refund policies and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. For theater excursions, please let staff know at the time of sign up if you would like to sit next to a specific person. For casino trips, residents must provide addresses for their guests. Passengers need to be in good physical health, able to board and re-board a motorcoach bus (several times if needed), walk up and down a flight of stairs and be able to walk reasonable distances. Passengers should know their own limitations before signing up for some trips* ON A TRIAL BASIS, YOUR NUMBER FOR LOADING ON THE BUS WILL BE DETERMINED BY WHEN YOU BOUGHT YOUR TICKET. FIRST ONE TO BUY A TICKET WILL BE NUMBER 1 TO LOAD THE BUS. EXCURSIONS EXCURSION SIGN UPS: APRIL 1, AT 8 AM If you are looking for enjoyment, friendships, new places to see, or just to get out for the day, try coming along for one of the many day trips that the Recreation Department has to offer. We travel to Museums, Casinos, Live Theater, Symphonies, Gardens, Concerts and we also offer a few multiple day trips throughout the year. Some trips will offer lunches or dinners that are included in the price. Flyers can be found in the Main Clubhouse Lobby or call the Recreation Department for more information on the fabulous day trips and special events. Thurs., June 27, 8:30am – 5pm, $62 pp. You will start the day off by heading out to Newport Harbor for a 45 min. docent lead harbor cruise. The highlights include: sea lions, whales and dolphins for the lucky few. The Pirates Cove, U.S. Coast Guard, Newport Harbor Life Guard, Rescue and Fire Boats, Balboa Pavilion, Corona Del Mar, and beautiful views along the California coastline. After your cruise, you will go next door to the historic Harborside Restaurant for lunch (included). Menu choices: Chicken Caesar salad, poached salmon w/ lemon caper sauce and jasmine rice, or Yankee pot roast w/pot roast gravy and roasted potatoes, fresh breads, dessert and your choice of coffee, tea or soda. After lunch, you will make a short drive over to Rogers Gardens where you will be turned loose on 4.5 acres to check out the spring and summer fashions for your garden and patio. The team was originally established in 1883, in Brooklyn, New York. Come out and enjoy a great day at the ball park as these two rivals take on each other in what is bound to be an exciting game.
