Sign-ups were March 7 in the Lodge Ballroom. We welcomed some new players and helped them form their four person team. We have 14 teams this season and will play a round at 9 am and at 10 am each Thursday for seven weeks. If we are rained out, the season will be extended and that missed game will be made up. Our first game was Thurs., March 21 on the courts. The schedule was emailed to all the players by Orville Ellingworth (our scorekeeper and scheduler) prior to that day. Any resident of Four Seasons may act as a sub for a team who has a need. We never know when someone has an appointment they can't change or they catch the current bug that might be floating around. Come on down and be our cheering section!! Our Welcome Back Potluck was held Thurs., March 28 in the Lodge Ballroom. It was well attended and we all shared great food and good company. There will be a Bocce Committee meeting on Fri. April 5 at 10 am in the Conference Room. We will discuss the 2019 season of play. Remember any resident of Four Seasons may sign out the Bocce equipment and play at any time. The Lodge attendant will be happy to assist you. If you are new to the game and would like some coaching, please contact me to set up a day and time. For info contact Sue Malarkey, (951) 223-3056, suem86301@ gmail.com or csm86301@aol.com. We had a Shuffleboard scramble of two person teams, either two men or two women on each team. It was held on March 14. Our two person teams had a great time with this competition! This was a competition of men verses women. Since this article was written in advance of that day, you will have to check back with me next month to see if we answered the question of who are the better player. Then again it might NOT ever be settled! There is a group who are practicing most Monday and Friday mornings. They start at approximately 9 am and play for one to two hours. Come out and join them, they are great teachers for anyone new to the game. This is a fun sport, easy to learn and easy on the joints! If that does not work for you, please call me and we can get together at a more convenient time for you. For information contact Sue Malarkey, (951) 223-3056, suem86301@gmail.com or csm86301@aol.com. Shuffleboard Bocce There is a small, but fun group of women golfers in Four Seasons who gather to play weekly on Thursdays. We usually play at the Hemet Golf Course, but occasionally we travel to a different course. Also we sometimes meet for lunch after our round. We are trying to "grow" our group. We welcome all women golfers. Yes, at this time we are gender- specific; after all, we call ourselves the DIVAS. We welcome ALL levels of play, because that is what we are. No handicap required. We are not an official, sanctioned league. We just love to get together and play and socialize. You can play nine or 18 holes. If you are new to golf or have been playing for years, please consider joining us. You don't have to be a Four Seasons resident.
