Tennis Friends
The deluge of rain this winter didn't dampen Tennis Friends love
for the game. The avid tennis players still managed to net several
fun matches. Armed with brooms, a squeegee, and the sun peeking
out behind the clouds, players dried the courts so they could play.
Hopefully, April showers will be minimal, and with the days being
longer, Tennis Friends can continue to score more time on the courts.
If you want to try this "sport for a lifetime," and make new friends,
check out the action on the tennis courts. Schedule times: women's
begin at 9 am, Monday and Friday; men's begin at 8 am, Tuesday and
Thursday; mixed-up doubles begin at 8 am, Saturday.
Tennis Tip: Winning your serve is one of the most crucial points
of the game, whether you're a beginner and just trying to get the ball
over the net into the service box, or you're an experienced player who
wants to develop a more powerful, accurate serve. When you begin
your serve, hold the ball in your fingertips, not in your hand. Begin
the toss in front of your legs and toss the ball up and forward towards
where you imagine your point of contact.*
