A few weeks ago, the Performing Arts Club presented their first of two Radio Shows for 2019. It was well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy the two comedy shows. It was a lot of fun. Tom Shelley, Producer, built and purchased several new and upgraded sound effects that added authenticity to the show, just as they were originally performed in the 1930s and 1940s. The next Radio Show is Saturday, July 27. Auditions for this show will be held next month. Please read the May Breeze article for more details. The Night They Raided the Ballroom - Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. Doors open at 5:30 pm, show begins at 6 pm. Admission is FREE! John Horning, Producer, and Paula Drake, Co- Producer, are putting together a variety show filled with many acts, including stand-up comedy, songs, dances and skits. This is a PG-55 show with suggestive content. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted. If you're interested in participating, please contact John Horning at (323) 253-3854. This is going to be another terrific show, so please make sure you pencil it in on your calendars. It shouldn't be missed as your friends and neighbors will surely be talking about it. Show (TBD) - Sept. 6 and 7. We currently have several show options but have not settled on one. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. My contact information is at the bottom of this article. We want to continue to offer FREE entertainment that you will enjoy. This class is based around country music but I also like to mix in a variety of other music to spice things up and keep it fresh and current. Classes are held in the Ballroom on Mondays. Monday class from 12:30 to 1:30 pm is Line Dance 101. This is a great class for anyone who has never line danced before and wants to try something new. I teach at a slow, repetitive pace. I'll be teaching the beginner class which is a slightly faster paced class from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. These are 12-week classes and the new class is starting Monday, April 1. I've started an Intermediate Step It Up class on Thursday that begins at 2 pm and goes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This class is for more advanced dancers. We are having our first barn burner dance party on April 19 at 5 pm in the Ballroom. This is a potluck BYOB event with the music being played by DJD (my husband). This is an open event so bring your friends and neighbors and let's burn up the dance floor. Even if you don't dance, you're more than welcome to come out and enjoy the music, food, and fun. If you have any questions, please contact me at (949) 326-3133 or email me at etgrad76@aol.com. ~ Janine Rohrbacker Janine and Dave Rohrbacker The Night They Raided the Ballroom May 10 and 11.
