We are all ready for spring! Warmer mornings and evenings will
be a comfort after our wet cold winter. Many of us played in the
Palm Desert Senior games. There were around 500 participants in
this three day tournament. We had four winners from our Beaumont
family. Jeromee Liebenberg and Jerry Stone won the Bronze medal
for men's doubles and Jan Buschmann and Renee Brickman won a
Bronze for women's doubles. We are so proud of them! We also had
our in-house Couples Tournament for Valentine's Day. Couples were
asked to dress up and played each other in a rotation schedule. It was
a fun day for players and all the spectators. Our medal winners were
Rick and Tracy Laykoff, Gold; Bruce and Donna Lewis, Silver; and
Jeromee and Mary Liebenberg, Bronze. Thanks to LynnRae Dupree
and Jesse Aceves for all their hard work.
We have had some 'new player' instruction clinics with excellent
interest and attendance. If you are interested in learning pickleball,

2224. They are wonderful patient instructors. For all players and
Four Season residents, Irma Peterson has found an excellent book on
Amazon called Stretching to Stay Young by Jessica Matthews. Check it
out. It will help us all in everyday life.
So if you would like to join us. Make sure to stretch and wear
appropriate shoes. You need flat court shoes NOT running shoes that
can catch on the court surface. Remember — never run backwards
in any sport at our age. It is so much fun to meet new and old friends
run and move your body.
