| OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2019 | 21 Garden Club All residents are welcome to attend our general meeting on the second Wednesday of each month in Abravanel Hall beginning at 9:30 am for refreshments and socializing. The meeting and speaker will begin at 10 am. April 10 - General Meeting: Our speaker for April 10 is Stephen Cantu, Master Gardener. His topic is "Making Gardening Accessible For All Ages and Disabilities." Mr. Cantu lives on two acres in Bonita. He is confined to a wheelchair as a result of injuries received in 1982. Coming Attractions For 2019: Bus Tour to Art Alive On Fri., April 12. The OH Garden Club and OH Travel Club are co-hosting a bus trip to the 38th Annual Art Alive at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park. This is a reminder for those who have signed up. OH Garden Club Tour on Wed., May 8 from 10 am to noon, followed by the luncheon in Abravanel Hall: The Garden Tour is free and open to all OHCC residents. The OHCC Clubhouse front desk will have a Garden Tour Information Sheet available the day before the event. This will include background on the featured home gardens and their addresses. Be sure to pick up a map and enjoy the tour. One of the homes has limited access to the yard so will be unavailable to anyone using a wheelchair or walker. We suggest you plan to carpool, as parking is limited. For any questions, contact: Mary Kay Murray, (442) 221-7051. OH Garden Club Luncheon: Seating in Abravanel Hall begins at 12:30 pm. The deadline to sign up for the luncheon is May 1. Prime Cuts will cater it. Cost is $25 for Garden Club members and $28 for non-members. Bring a check to the Clubhouse front desk and place it in the GC envelope. Please indicate the names of all the guests you are paying for. If you have a group of 10 guests, you may reserve a table. Please list the names of each guest in your group. Table reservations cannot be made for fewer than 10 people. However, everyone that signs up will be assigned a place at a table for 10. The Luncheon menu will include salad and rolls, salmon, chicken, steamed vegetables, scalloped potatoes, coffee, and dessert.
