Woodchucks
Your woodworking groundhogs did not see their shadows, which
may predict that the holidays will arrive early for our Camp Pendleton
families.
To assure continued success, we left our comfortable burrows and
have started the toy building:
• Larry S and Daniel arrived with a truckload of wood ready for
cutting.
• Larry B is creating templates for puzzles and games.
• Goldie continues to amaze all of us with her ingenuity.
• Mitch and Carl are truly our Master Toy builders.
• Mitchell E will continue to drag-on, they are green and fun.
• Murph and Patti let their imaginations go wild.
• The sewing club members have started designing the stockings
and cradle quilts.
• Karen and Holly are preparing their paintbrushes for action.
• Carolyn and Jerry are ready to create their bedtime stories.
To help promote an interest in woodworking, Tom gave a toy-
making clinic at Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad. The students
in the two classes were very attentive as they learned to build basic
toy boats. He reports that there is hope for the future!
All of the 2019 certified Woodchucks want to give a huge thank
you to members Henry Eisenson and Mike Thornton for helping us
view the safety film on our website.
Many new Woodchuck pups are eager to join in the fun. We are
currently preparing toy workshops for interested new and existing
Woodchucks.
Please help us support the Camp Pendleton YMCA summer day-
camp program by leaving a Woodchuck donation at the Front Desk.
