Now that the weather is warm, it's a good time to plan some outdoor activities. The putting green has recently been in the news with a small change to the Community Guidelines. Chipping will now be prohibited. The remainder of the rules listed in the Community Guidelines are unchanged. For example, no other activities such as driving, Frisbee, catch or picnics will be allowed. Adult guests can participate but must be accompanied by a resident at all times. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to use the putting green. Tennis shoes or other soft-soled athletic shoes are permitted but shoes with spikes are not allowed. Club times are posted for club play only. Open time may be reserved in one hour increments. Utilization is on a first-come, first- served basis. You don't have a putter? No problem — putters are available for checkout at The Courts front desk. The Ladies Putters Group currently uses the putting green on Mondays at 6 pm and Fridays at 9 am. This is a great way to get some exercise and improve your hand-eye coordination and mental focus. And it's a lot of fun! Another outdoor activity is the use of our trails. The trails are for Association members, residents, and their guests and are not open to the public. All pets must be on a leash and stay on the trail. Trail users must pick up after their pets and receptacles are provided. The use of motorized vehicles, bicycles and conveyances with wheels are not allowed except for mobility devices operated by disabled trail users and their guests. The goal of these restrictions is to prevent rutting the decomposed granite base and not allow water to degrade and destroy the trail. We are fortunate to have so many outdoor activities available to us including pools, spas, courts, trails and more. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy them. Let's get out there and take advantage of all that our wonderful community has to offer! The Rules & Regulations Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. We welcome all interested residents to join us and hope to see you at the next meeting. ~ Margie Chadburn, mjchadburn@aol.com Rules & Regulations committee 22 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2019 The ADA door openers for The Summit and The Courts facilities have been installed. Privacy curtains are being ordered in the dressing areas at The Lodge and The Courts facilities. The Facilities Committee is currently reviewing bids for repairs to the pavers at the Potrero and Crooked Creek gates and several traffic circles. An air conditioning unit at The Lodge that cooled the Bistro area recently had to be replaced. A pool heater at The Lodge pool was also in need of replacement. The community is anticipating the turnover of the Breckenridge gate from K. Hovnanian later this year. We are reviewing bids for security cameras to be installed at that location. We are also reviewing gate arms, speed bumps, and a pedestrian FOB system for that location. We would like to welcome our two new members to the Facilities Committee: Gino Domico and Jim Griffin. We thank them for their interest in serving our community. The Facilities Committee meets in the RCN Conference Room on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am. We always welcome residents to join us and share their ideas or concerns. ~ Bruce Lewis, b.lewis2794@sbcglobal.net Facilities Committee
