This is one article that I am asking you to please read from top to bottom to make sure you have all the necessary information on our next two shows. A sophisticated variety show with pizzazz called, "The Night They Raided Smitzsky's" will be Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. Doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 6:30 pm. Free tickets are available at The Lodge front desk. This show is intended for adults only (PG-55)! The inimitable John Horning is producing this show, as only John can… with humor and talent to make it a show you and your neighbors will be talking about for days. So get the tickets and put the show dates on your calendars so you don't miss the fun. Seating will be theater seating, not tables, so please do not bring in your dinner. This show is always a sellout on both nights, so please get your tickets early. The next Radio Shows are scheduled for July, so it's time again for auditions! Auditions will be Thursday, June 6 at 5 pm in The Lodge Movie Theater. We urge our regulars, the many new actors from our last shows, and folks who have never performed with us before to get yourselves up off your couches and join us in the cushy chairs in the Theater for our new round of auditions and some fun. This style of acting is much easier than doing a play as there is no memorizing. We read, or rather act, from our scripts. Yes, you do still need to act which is why we have weekly rehearsals. It is at these weekly rehearsals we will hone your skills to make you the best you can be, giving you valuable feedback, if needed. By showtime, we'll be ready to give the show of shows. Remember one thing, every role, no matter how big or small, is important to the full story. We're just a bunch of older light-hearted kids who enjoy acting. It's also a great place to make new friends. We hope to see you there. Are you ready to try something new and have some fun? Because the steps can be simple and you can dance by yourself in the group, line dancing is ideal for singles as well as people who don't like to freestyle dance. Line dancing is taught and practiced in country-western dance bars, social clubs, dance halls, weddings, cruises and Four Seasons Lodges around the world! A couple of the most popular dances performed today are the Electric Slide and Cupid Shuffle which is a great starting point to understand the concept of line dancing. Wherever line dance originated, one thing is for sure, this easy to learn group dance format isn't going anywhere anytime soon! There is something that is fun about dancing in a group to the beat of great music that makes you feel part of a team and that you really accomplish something together with every dance. Many of the line dances adapt to songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, as well as rock music and I have introduced many of these classic songs to the dances I teach. I invite you to come out and try something new if you have never tried line dancing before. If you have line danced in the past, come out and see all the new dances and songs that we are dancing to today. Classes are held on Mondays in the Ballroom starting with Line Dance 101 (entry level) from 12:30 to 1:30 pm and the beginner class from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. I also teach an intermediate class on Thursdays starting at 2 pm. Hope to see you there. ~ Janine Rohrbacker A large group of residents enjoy Step It Up Line Dancing
