FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2019 43 Let's Dance (ballroom dance) Country Line Dancing Mark your calendars – we are happy to announce that our Summer Fun Dinner and Dance is Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Ballroom. More details to follow. We enjoyed learning the Cha Cha in April. Many of our new dancers enjoyed the easy steps and turns. The dance for the month of May will be Rumba. A beautiful romantic dance, it is passionate, slow and sure to be a favorite. Rumba is danced to rhythmic slow music that will capture your heart with its slow swaying movements. It can be danced with intricacy or simplicity. Easy to learn and fun to dance, the Rumba is known as "The Dance of Romance." Plan to join us in the Ballroom on Monday nights from 6 to 7 pm for beginners and newcomers, and 7 to 8 pm for intermediate and advanced. The cost is $10 per person with our professional instructors. It is a great opportunity to meet some new friends and neighbors and get a little exercise at the same time! Hope to see you there. For more information, contact Puring or Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or purings@verizon.net. ~ Sue Condurachi Have you been considering trying to line dance? Well, here is your chance. I will be having a very beginner six-week class in the Ballroom starting Tuesday, May 7, from 1:30 to 2 pm. Going to a wedding later this year? You will be able to do the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle and impress your family and grandchildren after only two weeks of class. Line dancing is easier than couples dancing because you are only dealing with your own feet. Variations are acceptable because we are dancing for fun. Everyone in class is there to either get more physical exercise or challenge their mind to help keep it functioning at an optimal level. Dancing, obviously, is exercise to music and so great for your brain. As you learn the steps, the brain has to remember the order as well as directing the feet to move in that order. The more steps you learn, the easier it becomes to learn new dances. Although I am the only instructor, I have several "Angel" helpers who watch for dancers who are having a difficult time with a step and will rush over to help. Still not sure? Stop by any Tuesday from 2 to 4:30 in The Lodge Ballroom and watch for a while. Listen to the music and tap your feet. Maybe even try a few steps at your seat. You just might get hooked on the joy of country line dancing. Call me at (951) 769-3889 if you have any questions. ~ Martha Franck
