beginning bridge Beginning Bridge meets on Mondays in the Main Clubhouse from 12:30 - 3:30 pm, and is free to all residents. It is not necessary to have a partner or to sign up in advance. Info., Lynn at 769-1868. duplicate for fun The Sun Lakes Duplicate Bridge Club meets on Tuesdays at 6 pm in the North Clubhouse. The game does not earn Master Points, but it allows players to enjoy the experience of duplicate bridge without the competitive stress that sometimes occurs in sanctioned games. Info., Roz, 769-3757, or Bob, 845-4720. art league Oil painter Jack Roberts will demonstrate his technique at the March General Meeting on Sun., March 17, at 2 pm at the South Clubhouse. All residents are invited. The winners of the mini-show at the January meeting are pictured right (L-R): 1st: Judi Steenson, 2nd: Betty Jo Ford; and 3rd: Jo Taylor. Monthly classes are held on Mondays in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Main Clubhouse from 9 am to 12 noon. Guest artists teach a variety of media including oils, acrylics, pastels and watercolors. The guest artist for March is Bridgette Greb, who specializes in watercolor and pastel. This class will begin on Mon., March 4, and is for all levels of experience. Members will be given priority in signing up for the class, but nonmembers may be put on a waiting list. The fee for the class is $40 for the month for members and $45 for non-members. To sign up for the class with Bridgette or for more information, please contact Ramon Salcido at 845-8932. All Sun Lakes residents are invited to join the Art League. The dues are $15 per year.
