48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2019 By popular request we recently had a marbling technique demo provided by our classmate, Barbara Dipoma. This technique uses watered-down concepts paint and, of course, sheer talent to create a marbled effect. Special thanks to Barbara for such an interesting demo. Our June class will allow us to demo a watercolor technique that provides a soft colorful background using concepts paints that enhance a picture of a playful hummingbird. Ceramics class has something for the novice crafter looking for a new hobby, or someone who has experience and wants to create their own unique design, creating pieces for friends and family. In addition to individual projects, we also offer class projects throughout the year to teach new techniques. Come and join in the fun. Drop by the Arts & Crafts Room to see our monthly ceramics class schedule and learn more about our upcoming class projects. We meet Wednesdays from 12 to 4 pm. Please see class schedule for any exceptions. Certified instructor and/or an experienced class team lead is available to support your crafting needs. Participation is at your own pace and frequency. For information, you may contact Loretta Ramsey at (714) 803- 6744, or Brenda Ystrom at (909) 910-1100. ~ Brenda Ystrom Ceramics Corner We meet on the second and fourth Fridays at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. We get together and make three cards, and the cost is $8 to cover materials. You only need to bring your own glue and scissors. If you haven't tried our classes, please think about joining us for a fun-filled afternoon. It is important to RSVP so we will be sure to have enough kits for everyone! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. ~ Maryalice Chorba, chorbaparadise@yahoo. com Crafty Cardmakers Knit & Crochet Group In April our group went out to lunch at the Noodle Bar in the new Soboba Casino. It was very good and we all enjoyed the food and the company. It was a fun get together. If you are still looking for a new hobby or want to renew an old one, please come join us. We welcome beginners and those with experience. We have plenty of supplies to get you started. Tuesday mornings from 10 to 11:30 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. ~ Dorothy Payne, dpayne001@dc.rr.com Craft Group Last month the members of the Craft Group tried their hand at faux stained glass using a variety of designs, and more recently they moved on to etching glass using comical inscriptions on glasses and flower designs on vases as pictured. The Craft Group meets on Thursday mornings, 10 am to 12 pm, in the Arts & Crafts Room. You are welcome to stop by any Thursday to see what we are working on and what's planned for the future. If you would like to participate in a class, please call Barbara Paules at (951) 845-3608 for a list of supplies you may need to bring or for any costs involved for materials. ~ Barbara Paules Quilting Enthusiasts Join us on the first Sunday of every month at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room as we gather to sit and sew, share our love of quilting, and enjoy all things quilt related. Many of us bring our sewing machines, while others bring hand work. In addition, the Arts & Crafts Room is available to this group every Sunday for sit and sew, to cut out or pin a quilt, or enjoy some quiet quilting time. Tables, cutting mats, rulers, iron and ironing board are available. Please contact Mary Christelman @ ferndalemary@gmail.com. ~ Mary Christelman
